Shuffle up and deal

Sorry for not writing for a while. The reason is that I really haven't done anything else than slept, worked and played poker for last couple of weeks. My Oyster covers only zones 2-3 anymore, so I haven't even been in central London at all. I've totally seen it already, boring place. I've tried to play as much tournaments as possible since I'm still able to do it! Unfortunately in RAYland I can't continue playing like this. Thanks RAY and Finnish government for ruining everything funny! :(

Last week I played 6 tournaments and luckily finally cashed on Saturday to cover my losses of earlier weeks. I'm happy that I've been able to ignore influence of money when playing, that's very important when you seriously want to make profit. You don't want to be scared money at all. That has been my leak before, been playing too small games actually.

In casino I've met very much great people all around the world. There are some regular players like me who are playing almost every day, it's nice to chat with them during tournament breaks. Talking with them has also improved my language skills a lot, actually one English player told me that I'm speaking very good English. Poker players, always bluffing, haha.
People are much more open here compared to shy finns, not such a big surprise at all.. Totally strangers come to talk to me from time to time after playing once at the same table with me. Poker community is great!

6 days left in London, 4 tournaments to go! Shuffle up and deal!

Black Tuesday

My Tuesday didn't start very well when I found out that my regular sandwich artist had left the Subway in Leytonstone. Now it will take a bit more time to tell step by step what do I want since nobody there knows my typical order, how annoying!

But it's nothing compared to the fact that I went "broken". After busting in Tuesday's tournament I had only £15 left in my wallet and that won't cover Thursday's £50 tourney! I had to do a sad decision and go to get some more cash from ATM! :( I hadn't done that since I won my first poker money here. I've been living something like one and half months with money cash from poker alone.. Last weeks I haven't just cashed anything big and rent is eating my cash very quickly! £255 per week is lovely!

Anyway, last Saturday I was watching Scooter's live concert at HMV Forum and it was great! Totally better than Jeezy's performance. The guy is 46-years-old and still rocking! Must love the electro beats!

Mission Hardstyle

I finally booked a return flight for myself. I would have wanted to go to Spain or South France straight from here, but unfortunately I need to get back to the school on 31th May, so I don't have enough time to do what I want. I'm going to finish working 25th May and our rent is paid till 28th, so there are few days before I need to be back in Freezeland. Raindon is getting a bit boring and I want to see something else as well, so I decided to take a bus to Weedsterdam! The bus journey is going to take like 11 hours and I'm leaving on Sunday evening (27th), so I'll arrive to Dam on Monday morning. I could try to sleep on my way, if possible. If not possible it's not such a big problem either, I don't need that much sleep.. I've already booked hostel for two nights, total 36€. Located to Red Light District of course! ;)

Main reason I want to visit Netherlands is Hardstyle music. I don't give a damn about weed, tulips, windmills or wooden shoes. The country is full of great HS producers including Headhunterz, Brennan Heart, Noisecontrollers, Wildstylez etc, but unfortunately I just found out that Amsterdam sucks big time and there are not Hardstyle clubs at all! Unbelievable. It's supposed to be the #1 country of Hardstyle! I should have gone to Rotterdam, it's full of Hard music clubs.. Unfortunately it's too late to change plans now. I hope some clubs would have special hardstyle night during the time I'm going to stay there, but I guess it's pretty unlikely since it's going to be Monday and Tuesday nights.. At least there is a casino, if the nightlife doesn't satisfy me. Let's see.

The final question is when am I going to return? I took as late flight as possible. It means that I'm going to land to Helsinki 31th May 00:10, just 10 hours before I need to be back in the school! I picked the flight from Estonian Air because of short flight time and cheap price. Actually my flighs, bus journey and 2 hostel nights are still going to be cheaper than flights another guys booked from London to Helsinki! I'll have a stop-over of 25mins in Tallinn, so don't be too surprised if I don't appear to school in the morning, I just missed my connection flight. ;)

PS: I just found out an interesting video from youtube:

PPS: Tomorrow to listen Scooter's live set!

Eat, Sleep, Poker.

Last weekend I went to play to a new poker club (The Western Club), because they had interesting £48 special tournament with £4k guarantee. And best of all was free food buffet for all poker players! They know how to get my attention! The place was quite nice, not only because of many poker tables, but there were also lots of computers which could be used for playing online poker or just surfing in internet etc. Computers were especially nice during tournament breaks, didn't need to be bored, like I am always in Aspers during their way too long 20 min breaks.. Since it's casino, they probably hope tournament players to spend their breaks playing slots, table games or buying drinks. Unfotunately for them I basically never play -EV games. I'm not a gambler, I'm the investor.

Anyway back to the tournament. It finally got almost 200 players and the prize pool went up to impressive £9000, too bad I didn't get my share of those moneys.. I finished my night to a nasty setup with my pair of Kings against Aces just before the bubble. I ended up to be 22th when top 16 were paid. So my "free" buffet turned to be buffet of £48 after all! Not that cheap, but at least I didn't need to be pissed AND hungry! ;)

The biggest problem of The Western is it's poor location. It takes like 1 hour to get there from my job and getting back to the flat at night would be a nightmare. Riding buses with two or three exchanges, taking like 2 hours. Not good at all. Luckily this time the tournament took so long, like 6,5 hours, so it was already about 4:30 am when I busted. I decided to wait for a while since tubes start to operate something like 5:30. Computers turned to be useful again! :) I arrived to Leytonstone about 6:30 and decided to get some food from Tesco on my way back to the home. Never been in supermarket that early before! When I finally got back to home, it was funny to find out that Margo had already left for a job.

After all I ended up to go to sleep 8 am. Only 10 hours later I was back at the poker room playing one more successful tournament. I took down £235 profit from Aspers' £55 tourney. I'm running way too well! Still can't win the big one, but tbh this time I busted for a reason. I played my last hand like a donk. Worst of all, two of my opponents were completely donks as well, so I should have had a huge edge against them! :|
Better luck next time!

British Museum

Usually I hate all kind of museums, but this time I did something surprising and visited British Museum. I don't really care about history very much, but as being a big fan of TV shows Spartacus, Rome and movies like Gladiator, 300, Troy etc, I'm interested in the time of Ancient Rome and gladiator culture. I read from Internet that there are also some weapons from that time and since it's free entrance I thought why not give it a shot and take a look at them.

Luckily there were quite much war equipments like swords, shields, helmets and armours, but unfortunately most of them were in very poor condition. It's not very surprising at all since most of those items are more than 2000 years old. Rest of the museum was very boring like museums usually are. You need to be really interested in history, if you want to find those ancient piece of rocks somehow interesting...

I guarantee that pictures below are also super boring for the people who haven't watched any of those TV shows or movies and are nohow interested in Ancient Rome at all! ;)

Crossbow

Gladiator equipments

Hoplite helmet

That's all what's left from Roman soldier's equipments!

ancient swords

Armour for horse!

Samurai armour

Sea Life & London Eye

To do something else than just play poker I finally decided to visit London Aquarium and London Eye last weekend. Combined ticket was only £27 what is not that bad at all.
Aquarium was very nice, much more interesting than Sea Life in Helsinki. Especially penguins were brilliant! Never seen them before. In other hand London Eye wasn't really worth it.. London is quite boring looking city, nothing interesting to be seen. Very much boring old buildings, not much skyscrapers or anything.

Young Jeezyyy

I was watching Young Jeezy in IndigO2 last week's Monday. O2 is very cool and big building and for unknown reason it was full of Asian people! I really don't know what was going on there, but it felt like being in Tokyo or something!

Jeezy's live performance itself was a small disappointment.. First we had to wait for him way too long, I hate it. Such a diva.. Also audio was set up poorly in my taste. Bass was so strong that it wasn't easy to hear the melody behind it. All you heard was huge bass boost and Jeezy's rapping. Also he didn't peform any track completely, but jumped from track to track without any breaks between them. After all the whole show was over pretty quicky. Audience was crazy, can't understand what's wrong with all of those black people who totally lost control when Jeezy showed up to the stage! People here in London have been very polite, but I can't say same about them.. Wild ones... :D

Anyway about 30€ is not bad price at all for seeing "The Real Nigga". One of the best rappers in the world for sure, worth it. My next move is to buy ticket's to Scooter's concert 12th May. Electro music this time, it's going to be great parties there!
