Eat, Sleep, Poker.

Last weekend I went to play to a new poker club (The Western Club), because they had interesting £48 special tournament with £4k guarantee. And best of all was free food buffet for all poker players! They know how to get my attention! The place was quite nice, not only because of many poker tables, but there were also lots of computers which could be used for playing online poker or just surfing in internet etc. Computers were especially nice during tournament breaks, didn't need to be bored, like I am always in Aspers during their way too long 20 min breaks.. Since it's casino, they probably hope tournament players to spend their breaks playing slots, table games or buying drinks. Unfotunately for them I basically never play -EV games. I'm not a gambler, I'm the investor.

Anyway back to the tournament. It finally got almost 200 players and the prize pool went up to impressive £9000, too bad I didn't get my share of those moneys.. I finished my night to a nasty setup with my pair of Kings against Aces just before the bubble. I ended up to be 22th when top 16 were paid. So my "free" buffet turned to be buffet of £48 after all! Not that cheap, but at least I didn't need to be pissed AND hungry! ;)

The biggest problem of The Western is it's poor location. It takes like 1 hour to get there from my job and getting back to the flat at night would be a nightmare. Riding buses with two or three exchanges, taking like 2 hours. Not good at all. Luckily this time the tournament took so long, like 6,5 hours, so it was already about 4:30 am when I busted. I decided to wait for a while since tubes start to operate something like 5:30. Computers turned to be useful again! :) I arrived to Leytonstone about 6:30 and decided to get some food from Tesco on my way back to the home. Never been in supermarket that early before! When I finally got back to home, it was funny to find out that Margo had already left for a job.

After all I ended up to go to sleep 8 am. Only 10 hours later I was back at the poker room playing one more successful tournament. I took down £235 profit from Aspers' £55 tourney. I'm running way too well! Still can't win the big one, but tbh this time I busted for a reason. I played my last hand like a donk. Worst of all, two of my opponents were completely donks as well, so I should have had a huge edge against them! :|
Better luck next time!
